At 28 years old, Jess Phillips didn’t want to live life anymore. And yet, here she is at 40, reclaiming her shine and helping other women too!
“In my darkest point of my life, it made me look at life and myself in a new light, without shame. We can share without shame. Social media encourages only posting beauty-I believe in sharing ALL of life. I also believe in showing up for ALL of you!”
Her journey started with small symptoms. At 16 Jess had a car accident and moved forward without any medical care. In her twenties, these symptoms began showing up again: numbing, tingling, migraines, dizziness (for three years and on bed rest). Symptoms gradually appeared. The medications she took had side effects which got worse. She was so dizzy she couldn’t stand up straight. Jess was mis-diagnosed by every doctor.
Finally, a light bulb went off for her mom. She believed there was an answer. Her mom said, “we are going to figure this out!” and started looking for alternatives. She found Marilyn Eagan of The Peace Place in St. Louis.
Working with Marilyn, a functional medicine doctor and her support system, Jess was walking within three weeks. As part of your own team, “You have to DO the work. The inner work. Whatever you’re working with-you have to do the work. Most importantly, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.”
Today, Jess says, “Reclaim Your Shine-brings me joy. If a day goes by and I haven’t made some small imprint on someone’s life, I have to go back! I need to make a difference. Share compliments. You will see light and the smiles-others will feel that light and could change their life for that minute. I’m living my own message: I am empowering people to live their best life and reclaim their shine!!!”
Listen as Pam and Jess share their thoughts on reclaiming your own shine. Including key takeaways for showing up as WHO you are. “There’s got to be an answer!”
Expect Good. Defy Gravity. Sparkle ON!
