“Winning is great! And…. I learned so much more from the races I didn’t win.” Sarah Haskins-Korteum is a professional athlete. A medal winning triathlete who lives in the St. Louis area. Sarah talks about her beginnings and what it takes to BE a professional athlete. She started swimming as a kid and ran cross country in college. “Athletics have always been part of my life, and I thought about trying triathlon. I could swim and run and so I dove into cycling.” Applying to the Olympic Training Center, Sarah packed her bags and in June 2004 went to Colorado Springs. “Triathlon was my career for 15 years!” Listen as Pam and Sarah discuss her career, how much she enjoyed it, her feelings about winning and losses and what Sarah learned from her racing and has taken into family and motherhood.
