Sparkly Purple Bicycle Fun

Bicycling feels like …. flying and freedom. On a Friday in late March, I finally bought my birthday bicycle and from the minute I hopped on my new sparkly purple bike I loved every minute of it. It was magic and magical! I loved being on this sparkly purple bicycle! Not only did it feel amazing, it offered a quiet time with my thoughts and myself…and like yoga, it was a moving mediation. It made me think about fun, letting go, how, where and our thoughts about FUN. I’ve been riding forever and can clearly remember the “big hill” in Fernwood where I grew up. Oh, that was scary. My grandfather was a bicycle messenger, my dad loved to bike, too. Over the years, my biking has taken many twists and turns. When my kids were big enough, they were on the back of my bike and as they grew up, we took many bike rides around St. Louis.

Last summer I was in Rosemary Beach, and with the rental property came beach cruisers. I hopped on that bike, and I was so happy! I was on that bike every day loving the bicycle and the scenery. THAT’S the bike I want! Here in St. Louis, I found a sparkly purple Electra Townie Cruiser at The Cyclery in Edwardsville that was pretty close to that beach cruiser. Within two days, I had called The Cyclery and put my order in. Picking up that bike, we took it to a flat trail in Edwardsville and I spent the next hour and a half riding my sparkly purple cruiser. As I gear up…. I know that this is a brand-new sparkly purple adventure for me. If you have the chance to do something that brings you JOY and FUN-hop on for the ride of your life.
